Changes in climate between 1990 and 2006

Now you can see where North (Red "N" in a green circle) is located within the USDA plant hardiness zone 8.

This map is from March 2003. Since then the climate has warmed a bit. Orangeburg county is only 1 to 2 counties away from Zone 9(A). Since 1990
till
2006 the Zone 9 from Florida has moved to the south-eastern coastal South Carolina and all of coastal Georgia. If the climate keeps on warming up,
in another 5-10 years USDA Zone 9A may become available in Orangeburg county, be it good or bad news for some. Sure good news for
palm growers.
